Welcome to the Family Breastfeeding Association

We are sorry to announce that after almost 25 years of supporting breastfeeding women in Bucks and Mercer County, the Family Breastfeeding Association will discontinue its active counseling and support groups as of June 1, 2014. It was a difficult decision for all of us, but after much reflection, we are confident it is the right path at this time.

Our last meeting will be Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Hopewell Branch of the Mercer County Library in the children’s section. Directions. Our helpline will remain open on a non-emergent basis during our transition over the summer.

We are very pleased that we will continue our tradition of providing “The Quiet Spot,” a comfortable area for parents to tend to the needs of their babies and toddlers, at select local fairs and festivals. For more information, or to volunteer at The Quiet Spot, contact us at

We would like to extend a very heartfelt thanks to the many counselors and moms who have worked together over the years to nurture the experience of breastfeeding for us all. One of the best supports for nursing success is reaching out to other moms! We encourage you to reach out for education, support, and friendship. The Nursing Mothers Advisory Council (NMAC) and the Le Leche League offer wonderful support and breastfeeding resources in the Bucks and Mercer County areas. Please visit Area Support Groups and Helpful Links pages on our website for other resources that we recommend for breastfeeding families.
